Even the improved animations look worse than a mobile game.

The same can be said about the animations. Heck Yugi, Marik and Kaiba even have multiples of their God's which does completely against their own story. Say what you will about the anime/Manga decks they at least had some variety. They just looked which cards a duelist used during a duel, inserted 3 copies of the card into the deck and filled it with cards like "Pot of Greed" to make it flow faster. The story decks are also boring and completely unbalanced. It's just a cheap retelling of the original story. There is no character creation or roaming, all things a lot of older games had. The Gameplay is slow and sluggish, compared to older games such as Tag Force.

There's no paid DLC so they aren't making any further money after someone purchases their game. It's just a copy paste of the original Legacy of the Duelist with Link monsters but the cards they have are already outdated. This whole game seems like a wasted investment on Konami's part. But with no updates I'm in the dark on formats and modern strategies. I wanted to build some decks and test them and then eventually make an irl deck and play it at locals if it did well in the game. It's discouraging when you can't even play with new released cards and stay up to date on what's going on in the game. I wanted to build decks with the modern cards and test them out like any other simulator. I wanted to play this game as an alternative to online simulators since I have no other way of playing. I don't even think it ever did get any updates. The banlist doesn't even match real life. I had high hopes that the game would be updated with modern cards regularly but it's so lackluster and so far behind. I bought the game as soon as it released for the Switch in 2019.
